SAFE TRAINING

Decisions and actions at KINDY KARATE & OKUKAN contribute to a safe environment, placing great importance on the safety of students. We ensure instructors keep valid accreditation with the Australian Sports Commission. Our training venues are always equipped with a first aid kit and injury record forms to manage accidents.

COVIDSafe GENERAL GUIDELINES: CHILDREN

Please follow our general guidelines for COVIDSafe training for children:

Students and visitors are asked to refrain from entering the building if they are suffering COVID-like symptoms (runny nose, cough, etc), and must not return until symptoms resolve. It is a serious offence within our school to break this rule.

We take hygiene seriously. In the unlikely event that our COVID-19 coordinator (SENSEI) sees a student is unwell or is not keeping good hygiene practices, that student will be asked to return when their symptoms have resolved or when good hygiene practices can be met.

– Monitor your health status and stay away from KARATE when ill until symptoms fully resolve.

– We encourage parents to stay out of the building. Let only one guardian drop off or picking up your child, no watching for the time being.

– If possible, students should come to training already changed.

– Disinfect or wash your hands before you enter the DOJO.

– Limit your stay to training time -arrive only 5 minutes before class and make your way out as soon as the class finishes.

– If you’d like to speak to SENSEI about student progress, contact Meg to arrange a time

– Keep KARATE uniforms clean and bring your own water bottle.

COVIDSafe GENERAL GUIDELINES: KINDY KARATE (4-5 years) CLASSES

If your child attends Kindy Karate classes for 4-5 year olds, COVID SAFE GENERAL GUIDELINES CHILDREN apply, except, one guardian will be allowed to watch. This is a special consideration that does not extend to Prep or other children classes.

COVIDSafe GENERAL GUIDELINES: ADULTS

Please follow our general guidelines for adults:

– If possible, you should come to training already changed.

– Disinfect or wash your hands before you enter the DOJO.

– Monitor your health status and stay away from KARATE when ill until symptoms fully resolve.

  • Of course, keep coughing or sneezing into your elbow and observe social distancing inside the DOJO and when you travel to and from the DOJO!
